Brazilians, known for plastic surgery, bikini waxes and, well, their voluptuous beauty, are also a festive people. (Attending carnival, high on my to-do list, also comes to mind when I think of the land of samba and sun, not to mention lounging on Copacabana Beach under the looming shadow of Sugarloaf in the company of dozens of deeply tanned natives. Then there’s supermodel Gisele Bundchen, whom I hate on principle and not because she’s Brazilian.)
Whatever!
But since I don’t plan on hopping a plane for Rio any time in the immediate future, I instead took a trip to South America via the Brazilian dance company Grupo Corpo – literally, Body Group. This then, is what I had to say about that for Dance Magazine.
